unhappy finger

unhappy finger

if fingers could express themselves, this is what this one would look like.

It is somewhat unhappy to have been roped in to unpicking 7 button holes in as many days. It is in fact developing a thick skin to the whole sorry affair (literally). I won’t bore you with the details, but the sooner I see the back of the remaining 6 I still need to do, the better!

full circle – the skirt

Well, the skirt is finished. I worked out how to make my own waistband (as there was no pattern pieces) by using another skirt I had made previously as a guide. I added black lace to the hem which peeks out between the existing triangles of printed lace.

Compared to other projects this has been a doddle! the most work was spent figuring out what size to cut the waist to. I decided to take my time, and measured, cut, and then basted on the waist band a few times until I was confident I had the right size.
